Re: The new B6

Don't worry Dave, it won't be cold at all for the Seattle boys, very summer like! However, for you coming from AUS, might seem a bit chilly, but really not a big deal. I'm hoping we get a good storm between now and a few wks from now as there is NOTHING more beautiful then sailing at ABYC midwinters...

Don't remember those names, but I left Vermilion arouond 1980, and had been sailing mostly in Sandusky on lead mines (last boat being IOR G&S custom 39' 'Hat Trick") last few yrs. in OH. Had been sailing a lot of Hobies off the beach, mostly 16s and 18s. Moved to San Diego '84

Re: Trip - Long Island to Cleveland, maybe Toledo

Ed, Wave to Vermilion as you go by between Clev. and Toledo. I grew up sailing there out of VBC. Vermilion is where Sandy Douglas was from, the designer of the Thistle, which is an enlarged 14. I grew up sailing those and Jet 14s, which are a 14 hull with a Snipe rig in it. Those were the reasons I ...

Re: Upgrade of US1112

That rig is every bit as stiff as the B6 rig I would think. We were trying to figure out how to get more bend 14 yrs ago when we had it. Not sure I would pull off the uppers. but I would have a lot of cuningham purchase available.

Re: Sails for I 14

Free flight, These requests have been going on for several years. Most of the penultimate sails have been purchased and used. Very few new sails have been built for these boats, so the majority of older sails have already been purchased and there just aren't many around any longer. Not that people d...

Today took a very good Jr sailor/29er sailor who loved the 14 and did a great job. Was a bit of an eye opener for ...
