Boost cost me about Australian $23,500 all up. Add on about 350 hours in the shed building rigging and fitting out. My old boat Snatch was a nomex pre-preg boat and Maas Hanen built the shell deck and floor. I fitted it all together myself and finished it off. That boat cost me over $32,000. I thoug...

I have had uppers fail before and usually the mast will snap. I used to use 1x19 2.5mm which always started to rust after a year or so, then a strand would break and they would need replacing. I have since begun using dyform 2.5mm which is stronger, less stretch and doesn't rust. Be careful with vec...

if its less than 12 months old take it back to the retailer and get a replacement.
Otherwise try emailing Ronstan and see if they have a drawing of the parts and description of how its assembled

correction

at the NZ worlds there were at least 5 masts not CST 14, namely CST 15 and one CST9 and at least one Bieker in the top 20.

Clive is a bit wrong there.

He has sold 254 masts..not bad ...at approx$3000 each = $750,000
not a bad business to be in in the last 8 years!

Adam, Ghost was my first boat...the rubber I used was windsurfer boom grip...its the best stuff to use...other types are too soft and will tear easily. I got mine from Glascraft Marine in Adelaide...but I think they source it from somewhere in Queensland? It comes 100mm wide and 1.2 m long..2 length...

Rohan goes fast in his moth but thats on foils so is hard to compare with a "normal" boat. ASA: Sharpies are huge in Adelaide now...over 50 local boats will be at the nationals..they expect 90- 100 boats. Just about everyone thats ever sailed sharpies will do the regatta..there are guys buying them ...
