It is with some regret that I must part with my faithful boat this season. My crew moved to France and I will be sailing on someone else's I14 for the foreseeable future.

Metal on Metal (formerly the Blue Footed Booby, formerly USA 1148) is a solidly built 2001 American Built Bieker 3 hull with a modern rig. It includes everything needed to sail and has been raced and lovingly maintained up until the end of last season.

Notable features include:
- Beiker mast and foils
- Self-tacking jib
- T-foil with flawlessly executed twist tiller adjustment
- 2 full sets Glaser sails, one new for Toronto worlds (2013), one good for practice
- 2013 sails are still in racing shape
- Carbon extensions
- 4 kites in varying designs and conditions
- Bigger foredeck opening for faster kite launch/douse
- Reinforced racks (stiffer)
- New cockpit and mast paint 2016
- Foam deck pads for superior crew grip and rest

I bought it three years ago when I was moving from sailing keelboats to I14 and it turned out to be an ideal starter boat as it has all of the parts of a modern 14, the rigging and layout is relatively simple, the boat is relatively forgiving, and the hull is very solid. This allowed us to spend most of our time sailing (in-place of boatwork). Accordingly, this is an ideal boat for someone starting out in the I14 fleet.

Boat was competitive enough to finish mid-fleet at the 2016 Carnac worlds, even though it was sailed by a couple hacks.

Boat is located at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, Toronto, Canada.

Tom is taking his time to decide that he needs to upgrade from his OD14, though we did have a good sail in a strong Toronto northerly a few weeks back.

Price is very negotiable if you're going to race in the Canadian fleet. This is a good boat for high breeze at the 2018 worlds in San Fran! Make an offer - It's spending too much time on the dock!
