Wanted - One Design 14

Post by Argonaut » Thu Jul 23, 2015 3:50 pm

Hello! I am a former penny sailor, and sold my old penny (KC 545) several years ago when I first got married. We are back in the market, and have a fascination with the OD-14's, specifically, the GP rigs. If you have one for sale, please let me know. I'm in Western NC, but am willing to drive...I drove to CAN for my first Penny!

Thanks!

Jason

There are a lot of them around, so finding one shouldn't be to hard. Keep in mind that an OD14 will have a fragile, completely blown out spinnaker, if it has one at all. There are no usable OD14 spinnakers available. You will have to get your sailmaker to make you a new one, or you will have to cut down a used modern I-14 spinnaker.

Thanks for the info advice! I'm not ruling out a Penny, just like the OD-14's.

Pennies will have the same spinnaker issue. It's not really a problem, you just need to figure in the cost of the spinnaker.
