If you are still unsure of where to stay for the 2013 Worlds, you might consider camping at the RCYC.
Camping is a great option – attached is a facility guide that will give you a better idea of the club layout and what to expect.
The logistics are easy: throw your tent and gear into the container and when you arrive you’ll be in the middle of everything (toilets, showers, boat lock boxes, club restaurants, bar, endless towels, BBQs, etc). The Snug Island camping area is on club property so your stuff will be safe and you’ll be able to enjoy all we have to offer at the club. Plus, you’ll be only a short walk or bike ride away from Toronto Island’s boardwalk, beaches, cafes, parks and other attractions. From there you can catch a city ferry downtown or take the launch from the club to our parking lot on Cherry Street – there are grocery stores within walking distance of both.
There have been several inquiries about camping, but we don’t have a firm tally yet. We’ll probably get everyone interested to fill out a camping registration form online as the event gets closer. As to capacity, the grassy area on Snug Island has enough space to accommodate 50+ tents.
PS – Please pass this info along to the rest of your fleet. Is there anything else we can do to help rally your fleet to send more boats?
PPS – the NOR and online registration will go live on April 15th – we’ll send out the links next week!
