Boat History US 814

Post by tjthomas » Mon Sep 21, 2015 8:05 pm

Trying to find any history on this dinghy that was owned by my father in 1960's.

A boat with the sail number US 814 placed 40th in the 1970 Finn Gold Cup in Cascais, Portugal with the entry “J. Eggers”. John Eggers was/is a sailmaker in South Amboy, NJ.

Can anyone offer any insights as to the maker, ownership, etc...?

Any help is appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Hopefully more info will be coming, in the meantime. The picture is definitely of an International 14, however the US 814 at the gold cup would not be a 14. The Gold Cup is the world championships for the Finn class, a single handed boat.
