Hi All,

Picking up 1306 from Southampton this weekend.

Does anyone have any history of this boat? I've seen she is on the Warming Pan Race films on you tube from 1991.

Steve

I believe it was sailed by James FAWCETT and Bruce GRANT and is a Hayling Design?

Rigged her up today after a 12hr round trip to pick her up yesterday.

Looks like there's a fair bit of re-roping to do.

What size/length spinnaker halyard do the pennys use?

I don’t remember the length, but it does depend on how it is routed, the big difference is if you have a spinnaker/pole launch system or just a spinnaker launch system.

If it is just a spinnaker launch, then twice the mast height, plus the distance to the back of the sock and forward to where the spinnaker ends when in the sock (for the umbilical). Then I’d add perhaps a meter or two (better too long than too short!, then cut down when you are sure of the length). But I haven’t rigged this way in a long long time, so buyer beware…

If your spinnaker halyard launches your pole then you need twice your mast height plus about 1.5 time boat length, again throw in an extra meter or two to be safe.

Good luck!

Thanks Rand,

Its got a setup similar to the RS400 by the look of it separate pole and launcher. I was going to go for 2.5 x mast + 2 x boat length + 'a bit' so 30m

Should have some spare then for other bits

:)
