Hi everyone, some of you know my I14 caprice, and you´ve seen a video i posted...it´s not a full carbon boat and it´s not totally and oldie..square main,7,62mts mast, self tack jib,and really light boat...tomorrow im travelling 1000km to Buenos Aires City for an important regatta that is exclusive for small boats (usually there´s around 100 boats like lasers,29er,470,420,tornado,f18,snipe,cadet,opti)and im really scared of 29ers...i´ve seen some videos but is it just me or my boat could be faster?...cause upwind they sure look fast!!...i know tornados and f-18s cats will beat me on the water, 470 and others boats??..could yo give a previous idea of how well my boat has to perform against them? especially against 29er..i´ve never race with portsmouth system against those kind of boats..but im pretty sure my baby has to be fast on water against them..

Thanks everyone!!..

here´s some images...i just love my Caprice..

Ps: i would really aprecciate some comments about the boat, i know it´s not one of the latest but it sure looks great doesn´t it?

Your boat is faster upwind and especially downwind. Good luck at the regatta.

from everything ive heard, the 29er shouldn't be much competition for your boat. but im curios as to how it goes. please post after the racing :)

Under normal circumstances, the 14 is faster in all conditions however some of the best 29er sailors in the World are from Argentina... they know how to push their boats very well in the breeze. I would think the talent would be more of a factor than the actual boat.

guysss!! we handle to finish 4th, behind a F18, and two lightnings, it was very dificult to catch up the two lightnings, very poor wind, about 2-3knts, and the course wasnt set up for spinnaker!! so we couldnt use it more than 15min in a 2hrs and 25min regatta... but final words... I14 rocks!!

Looks like you are having a great time.

The spinnaker seems very small and flat for the hull shape and pole length.

I'm sure a better spinnaker would improve the performance downwind.
