Training clinic San Diego Jan 5-6, 2008

Post by BWR » Thu Dec 27, 2007 9:21 pm

14s will be sailing the New Years day race out of SDYC. Free registration at SDYC.org. We will be having a basic 14 clinic the following weekend geared towards newer and intermediate 14 sailors. Currently have approx. 10 boats confirmed. Hoping to get new people interested and start building a crew base. If your don't have a boat come down anyway as we will try to geet everyone on a boat, and get some basic skiff knowledge. We will be doing dry land training, boat set-up/tuning as well as on the water drills. We will have some power boats to change crews/drivers on the water. This was very well recieved last year and hoping to do more training weekends as needed. Please contact me w/ ?s.

A huge "thank you" to Brad for organizing the training clinic this past weekend. Despite getting the storm of the year in SO CA, a great turnout was had, and spent 2 partially soggy, light air sailing days on San Diego bay. Turns out on the water training is great for new helms/crews when there isnt anyone else on the bay, except the coasties ensuring the 14s werent going out to sea! For those that missed it, be sure to get to the next one. pics/video coming soon.

Thanks to Terry Gleason who cut 2+ hrs. of video down to 10 min. or so. He will have longer CDs at midwinters if people are interested. Yvonne did a lot of videoing that weekend from their inflatable as well, thanks.
