Re: B3 How competitive
A B3 in good condition with good sails and foils is still a very competitive boat, capable of winning races against B5s and B6s (or whatever) and an excellent choice for someone new to skiff sailing. There are many B3s which are for sale at great values. The B3 is wider, has more buoyancy and is way...

Re: The new B6
Nice work Terry. For the record, while Hendo does frequently do paint touch up on my hull due to dock dings, etc. I have never had my B6 bow repaired! Not yet at least.

I am a big fan. If you change your rake frequently they are a real asset. Properly rigged they are very smooth simple and reliable. Do it. You won't be sorry in my opinion.

Re: The new B6
Nice! True custom. Do you get to choose the color too? How about one for my Bieker cradle? If i can't have wheels maybe I can have a sticker? Another beautiful job Kris and Kim. Finally two B6 ported in one place even if they have different rigs. Let the tuning begin! If only I didn't have a job. Joe

Congratulations on making the decision to keep your boat and sail the Worlds. You still have a great boat worthy of all the attention and time on the water you and your mate can give it. See you in Toronto. Meanwhile, good sailing.

Re: Average rake range and how to measure it
Ed: Only one person in the U.S. considers this top secret info. The rest of us are happy to share. I currently measure my rake with the uppers off- off the mast that is! When I had my B5, measurements were done with the uppers all the way slack. Light Air, Board down 8150, tension 28-32 Full Trappin...

Re: San Diego winter I-14 sailing 2013
Jake: The Midwinters was a great regatta. We had a small but very competitive fleet of 8 boats. It was great sailing in some challenging conditions. Light and flat and light and lumpy. Welcome back to Paul and Guillo and congratulations on their win. Despite their one year hiatus they were fast and ...

And the cool thing about that is that you can buy a new B6 for a fraction of the cost of what it cost to buy a pre-preg B5 7 years ago!

Re: Trailer mounted gear box
The Seattle trailer to which people refer started as a 6x10' (I believe) aluminum landscape trailer. You know the ones with the expanded metal grating for the back gate that serves as a ramp for lawn equipment? It was easy to convert to a box trailer capable of holding 3-4 well equipped teams' gear ...

Re: The new B6
Henderson Boat Company is trying to become a Leeds certified "green" boat builder. To that end, Kris is experimenting with a flour and water based glue (no solvents) and a wood fiber tape sourced from recycled newspapers. Remember when you made paper maiche? Just kidding.

Re: Pacific Rim/ US Nationals Report
On Monday 4 Races were held in the conditions that Kaneohe Bay is famous for- 16-18 knots of wind (with some higher gusts), flat and warm water and beautiful green mountains. WInds were steady, with oscillating shifts. Fabulous conditions for the start of the U.S. Nationals. There was no doubt by th...
