Re: i14 single handed

Hi I tried it last week with 5-6 knots of wind. Everything went well until tacking. The boat kept pulling windwards and was dead in the water going backwards. Trying to get it back sailing proved to be very difficult. Gybing did not work because I couldn't do enough counterweight when the boom comes...

In need of Crew

Hi

I'm in need for a crew in Belgium. As I'm new to the whole skiff thing, a somewhat experienced crew would be helpful.
My Bieker 3 is located at SYCOD. I'm mostly available on weekends.
Thanks!

Re: Foil adjustment

Thanks!

This is helpful. My control line for the foil runs to the frontwing on the rack. We'll have to use more elastic rope as you do to make te foil come back. Because of the friction on the blocks, the foil doesn't return anymore now.

Re: Launching from the beach

Re: Beach launch - generally, you need to have the crew on the weather side holding the boat into the wind. Hold the rack, and just spin it to keep the boat unloaded. The skipper can install the rudder from inside the cockpit, or from behind. Obviously, a bit tough if the slope of the beach is stee...

Launching from the beach

IMG_5859.jpg Hey Guys Can you give me some tips on how to properly launch an i14 from the beach. Tried it last Sunday but the breeze and the waves made it impossible. Also broke one of the joysticks capsizing in the shallow water. (stopt trying because I got scared and didn't want to break my mast ...

Re: Upgrade of US1112

Sandy was almost a disaster! IMG_20121029_132439.jpg Then this happened! IMG_20121030_133344.jpg Called insurance company to see if replacement value could be claimed. :D They said I was nuts! :( So, fired up the chain saw. IMG_20121030_142349.jpg So, its onward to new sails and maybe a jiber! This...

Re: Spinnaker and pole launching system for a B3

Hi Rand
Thank you very much for your input!

I'm gonna learn how to sail this thing first before doing the big contests. :D
Wobbly sea here in Belgium so it'll be fun keeping the boat afloat. 8)

Spinnaker and pole launching system for a B3

Hi Guys

It's been posted several times before but all the images attached to the posts seem te be gone.
I'm struggling finding a good simple system for launching my spinnaker.
Can somebody draw me a diagram of how it should be done of pictures of their setup?

Thank you for your reply
I've been tracking the history of the boat and it's skippers.
So far 1 person replied back to me about the boat so it's a start!

What kind of i14 is this?

Hello good people! Let me introduce myself before I go rambling on about my new boat. I'm Koenraad (28), I live in Belgium. I've been sailing dinghies since I was 12 years old. Started with optimist, equipe, 420 & later on 470, Buzz. I also have a Jeanneau fantasia 28 for when there is no wind or I ...
