Re: Boat in a box - the Shu3

we are pointing like a dog and i think it is because the car is always right out, possibly sheeting angle as well since the new rig went in. . most boats are sailing with the jib on the gunwhale at all times nowdays. Seems like if the mid leech is tight enough then the flow dragged through the slot...

Re: GBR1524 TLC and control line changes

Rudder foil query. Does anyone come across the issue where the rudder lift ends up the foil forwards around the biscuit. i.e. the force to hold the rudder on the purchase system is 0 or negative? The solution is either to move the pivot point forwards on the biscuit of go stronger on the bungee, bu...

Re: Two or Three patch Kite???

Not usually a problem with all the two patch boats i've ever sailed on. I'd suggest that the frcition is coming in the running of the recall line back to the hoist block rather than the sock or patches. Either way three patches are likely to create more resistance on the line when hoisted rather tha...

Re: Square top Jibs & wide upper spreaders

Wider spreaders might be a function of Archie M having full width spreaders on his boat and boats with the shrouds mounted on the racks.

Centre mount uppers are most often a function of having the uppers adjustable on the water to blade out the upper sail in v Light and heavy winds.

Re: The new B6

Christ knows mate I'd be in the p1ss. But assuming cunno maxed, perhaps ease a little vang, helps keep the boom in a little more, less backwind more power spilled from the top. Maybe down clew / jib down forestay too a little. The immediate/ short term fix is a small spring of the jib sheet to open...

Re: single spreader rigs adopted on 18 #1 rigs

it still has two spreaders the mast just looks bigger because the main is zipped round the mast two support the battens on the new big main. I'm only seeing the forestay proder strut in the video on the top section of the mast. If others can show me a photo of upper spreaders onto upper stays I'm i...
