28 sounds very low. On the shrouds you are probably looking for at least 35.

Your tension will depend on what sort of boat you have. Older boats may not cope as well with high tensions Spreader angles are dependant on your mast, sail shape and weight of the crew Spinnaker sheets - continuous You want to have your cunningham adjustable from the trap. Most people dont adjust t...

CST 16?

Im looking at buying a boat that has a CST 16 on it. Has anyone here used one or know anything about it?
We would be sailing with a crew weight of 150-155kgs

We sail at 150kg and seem to be fine as long as you sail upwind, downwind and nothing in between (over 20 knots)

The older boats in Australia are vastly different to what you call penultimates. Most of them now have a carbon rig and t foils. So no there will not be a penultimate class as such, but if you were to bring the boat im sure there will be plenty of boats you are competitive with as there will be plen...

No it is not worth converting an ice to have racks. If it is already done for you then thats a bonus.
Have you sailed 14's before?

Just get an old boat. If you have no skiff experience it wont matter what hull shape you have. Light conditions - an ice is faster than a b3 This is assuming the ice has a decent rig on it and foils. Its not so much the hulls that are out of date mainly the rigs and the fact the old boats dont have ...

Hey Waz
Do any of the WA boats have the gybing boards. Im only aware of the victorians that had them. Interestingly the boats i know that had them were well down on their usual performance.

Oh and sorry for punching you on presentation night

Was that a round about way of saying you wont be doing the nats. I think you should blow off your work thing. Next years nats are in WA so probably a bit far for you.

Hi Colin
How many votes does each country get? I understand that having over 40 financial boats in Australia our vote will be worth 5 points.
Whats the story with the other fleets?
