Re: GBR1524 TLC and control line changes

Hi Steve, Thanks for the tip. I actually intended to have them are right angle sections, then realised running take ups will be a challenge. after i had laid it up. Anyway, the challenge is getting the garage warm enough for the epoxy. kerosene and electric heaters struggle to keep up with the poor ...

Re: Wide Racks & Bigger Rig

Dan or Woofy probably best to comment on this. But my recollection was a proposal at the uk agm for a couple of boats to fit wider wings to quantify the performance and useabiliy differences. The original boats identified didn't get round to doing the testing, so woofy has put together an m12 with t...

Re: GBR1524 TLC and control line changes

I am going to rei force the floor which is very susceptible to puncture then bond the bars on.

I guess I will fillet the join and over laminate.

Unless there is a better solution?

Re: GBR1524 TLC and control line changes

After a very long break I have restarted work. I have been working on assembling a new rudder and making some kickbard. The kickbars are a trial and may end up being too flexible in their current form, see how it comes out. Kickbars first layup.jpg Reinforced the last 200m each end to take fittings ...

Re: GBR1524 TLC and control line changes

Bit if a daft question but how do you finish off the transom edge before painting?

I currently have a sharp edge which isn't good but how do you detune it to sensible shape the paint will adhere to and it won't be too brittle.

Re: GBR1524 TLC and control line changes

The first lay up wasn't too successful because I couldn't keep the unis in the right place around the tube so take two had a different method. It need some plain weave to bind it all together and it is done.

Re: Mainsail mast top lock

The other option i have seen is to put a standard spinnaker pole end into the top of the mast and having a strop on the top of the mainsail.

Re: GBR1524 TLC and control line changes

I need a bit of help from anyone who has put together or taken up the cockpit floor in a B5. My floor is nomex and needs some live, it looks like there might be two longitudinal joins in the floor. having looked at the carbonology build photos those B5 have three piece floors, is that by design and ...
