You may in fact be correct. I can only go by what I was told when I got the boat which was that it is a Bieker II. I have only ever seen a picture of a Bieker I and it looked different. I have never seen a picture of another Bieker II, so I have always assumed that what I was told was correct. Steve

Hey JSW225- If you're looking for someone to sail with, I've got an I14 located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. My boat is a Bieker BII Penultimate converted to new rules. I've had the boat 1-1/2 years, so I'm still very new to 14's. If you end up getting a boat or are looking to sail, we might ...

How do you support the boat when it's on it's side?
One person holds the boat up while the other gets the mast in?

Mast stepping

I'm looking for any suggestions on ways to make mast stepping easier. I'm sailing a B2. The mast is floor stepped. To raise the mast, we pick it up vertically with two people. Holding it next to the boat, I step into the boat and then the crew hands it to me. I then have to pick it straight up about...

East Coast Fleets (USA)

Can anyone direct me towards a possilble list of US fleets/contacts? I picked up a B2 about a year ago and have been messing around with it a little. I might be interested in racing with or at least sailing with some other 14 sailors. The guy I bought my mainsail from sailed with an Annapolis fleet,...

Not sure I would suggest using vasaline, as that'll probably attract dirt and crud. I have heard of using shaving cream though to hold the balls in the race. Once it's all back together, rinse the cream out, and you're ready to go.

Kevin- Where did you connect the inner bridle to? I didn't figure the load would be overwhelmingly high considering the vang takes most of the upward load. My winglets look like they're a pretty healthy layer of carbon and I figured if it's strong enough to hold two guys, it should be strong enough ...

Twin Tiller / Aft Sheeting

I'd like to free up some cockpit space on my B2 and am considering changing from the center sheeting to a clew sheeting system with the mainsheet coming directly off the boom. I'm wondering what the disadvantages to such a system might be. Some conerns are: - Leeward tiller dragging in the water. Wh...

I suspect the chute is old. I'm guessing the boat is from around 1996. I would guess the chute is original. Anyway, I will Sailkote the crap out of it and keep my fingers crossed. I really don't want to have to buy a new spinnaker.

Thanks everyone for all the advice.

Spinnaker Retrival and Capsise

I'm looking for any advise on spinnaker handling. I'm new to 14s and recently picked up a Bieker II. We had the boat out yesterday in a good mid-teens breeze. We were able to launch the kite pretty well. It seemed we had to be on starboard tack to launch because the kite sock exits on the port side ...
